How to add and update your instagram block on Squarespace
In today's video tutorial I’m going to show you how you can add and update and fix your Instagram feed on Squarespace.
Having social media connected to your site is a given these days but also every social platform is always updating so sometimes it can disconnect from your site. I’ll show you how we can easily fix that today as well.
Step 1 Login to Instagram and your other social media accounts
Make sure you are logged into your own Instagram account before doing anything else. This will ensure when we go to connect that it’s going to automatically bring up the correct account.
At this point, if you notice you are signed into someone else’s account, sign out and sign into the correct account that you want to connect to your website.
Step 2 Login to your Squarespace website
Login into Squarepsace and go to Settings > Connected Accounts.
If you have never connected a social media account you can do that now by clicking on connect account. Once you have connected your accounts head to step 4.
Or if you have your social media accounts connected and they are in red. That means you need to reauthenticate them.
Step 3 Reauthorise your account
When your account is disconnected it appears in red to reauthorise and reconnect your account just click on the social account affected and a box will appear for you to connect/reauthenticate.
Step 4 Add or renew Instagram block and other social media blocks
To add new blocks to your site it’s the same as any other time you want to add a new block in Squarespace.
I always add new blocks to replace the old ones if I have ever had anything disconnect, just to be safe.
Important things to remember
Social media is a great driver of traffic to your website so it does seem like a missed opportunity if you dont have it set up.
Social media platforms are constantly updating and sometimes it can be hard for everyone else to keep up so if you do notice that your website isn’t showing the latest posts from Instagram or your website disconnects, just follow these steps to remedy it.
