The secrets to getting client testimonials easily

Imagine that you are a first-time visitor on a website and you really need their service. But how can you guarantee that they can do a good job? This is what makes the client testimonials essential since they are the online word-of-mouth version we get from our trusted friends and family.

And the best time to ask for feedback is after you know your client is thrilled with the result of the project. It's because the idea and the feeling are fresh so they will have good vibes all around so asking them for a review will help them channel that energy somewhere.

Incentivise the review

Why not make your clients happier by giving them a discount on their next purchase when they leave a review? People are busy, especially business owners. Give them a little perk for taking the time to review.  

Or even just posting reviews regularly on social media like Instagram or Facebook and tagging people, is enough incentive because it's also publicity for them. 

Use a good story to catch attention

You can also use it as a stepping stone to build trust and credibility online! Get a client testimonial by sending your clients a My Google Business Review link after you’ve worked with them. 

Exchange reviews 

You can also swap reviews with your clients! It's definitely a win-win situation for both of you since you both worked well with each other. 

For example, you can send them an email says: 

"Hi (name),

I've really enjoyed working with you and I'd love to leave a review about us working together. If you could do the same for me, I think it would be great for both our businesses." 

Then add your My Google Business Review link for convenience!



How you get your My Google Business Link to share to clients

Share the short URL with clients from your Google My Business dashboard. This allows the customers to leave reviews and view your Business Profile. Here are some ways to share the short URL with customers:

On your computer: 

1. Sign in to Google My Business.

2. Open the location you'd like to manage.

3. Click Home on the left side of the menu.

4. Copy the short URL in the "Get more reviews" card and share them with your clients. 

On the mobile app: 

1. Open the Google My Business app.

2. Tap Customers and then Reviews.

3. Tap Share in the top right.

4. If your short name is not created, you will be prompted to create one.

5. Copy your short URL to share it with clients. 

Once your customer clicks the link, they can now rate your business and leave a review.

What to do once you have the My Google Business link

  • Send it out to clients through email, message, or wherever you usually contact them

  • Put it in your email signature

  • Place it in your auto-response

  • Add the link on your website 

  • Include it on email newsletters
